Hello Lovers,
It's been a while, but I've missed you. For those who have met me, spoken with me- I hope you are well. For those I have yet to seduce, soon.
Because I am based in DC, MD, VA (DMV) area, I wanted to speak briefly about the events occurring. For those unaware, the DMV area is/was home to nearly 400,000 Federal employees or 15% of the DMV workforce. Changes with the new administration called for sudden lay-offs with many more affected by government adjacent contracts ending. These events have sent shockwaves through our community.
This is not a political post. Feel how you feel about the changes being made, but a lot of really great, hardworking individuals I know personally are now jobless without very many options. For those who I'd shared with, I've never been a federal employee but I was a freelancer over the years on government adjacent contracts that now no-longer exist. For so many in this area, these jobs have been not just a paycheck but a source of stability, a sense of pride, and a way to take care of families and futures. And I know this sudden shift has left many of you feeling uncertain and stressed. I see you. I hear you.
It’s incredibly frustrating when something so out of your control takes away what you've worked hard to build. But I know from personal experience that we are a resilient, resourceful, and capable bunch.
To everyone who is suddenly jobless and feeling the weight of uncertainty, please know you're not alone. If you’re struggling, take a moment to breathe. Sometimes the world pushes us to a place where we have to reset and find new directions—often in ways we never imagined.
In the spirit of support, I want to offer something to ease the burden during this transition. For anyone who’s affected by the layoffs or job cuts, I’m offering a special, a thirty minute extension to you initial booking for the month of March—because I want you to feel seen and cared for in a way that’s affordable. I will have availability Wednesday-Saturday the entire month, as I too will be navigating these changes the rest of the week. I understand the stress of financial uncertainty, and while I can’t replace the security of a job, I can offer a little moment of escape and comfort, as we all try to navigate these changing times together.
Reach out to me if you’d like to take advantage of this offer. This is my way of showing support and solidarity with all of you going through this. And for those who are already dealing with the emotional toll of this transition, I’m here to listen and hold space for you.
We may be facing some rough seas, but remember: we’ve got this. Together, we can weather the storm and rebuild with strength, creativity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
XOXO,
Aria St. James
